Introduction to Geographical Indication

Geographical Indication (GI)

1. Geographical Indication means any indication which identifies goods and/or a product as originating from a particular region of which its geographical environment factors including nature, labor, or combination of both factors are attributable to a given reputation, quality, and characteristics of the produced goods and/or product.

Indication of Source

2. Indication of source means any indication which complies with the requirements of a geographical indication but has not been registered or solely indicates the origin of certain goods or services.
